Based on the Para Handy books, by Neil Munro, the Tales of Para Handy is set in the Western Isles of Scotland in the 1930's. It follows the crew of the puffer 'Vital Spark' which include Captain Peter 'Para Handy' MacFarlane (Gregor Fisher), first mate Dougie Cameron (Sean Scanlan), engineer Dan MacPhail (Ricki Fulton) and Sunny Jim (Andrew Fairlie).
Supplied as a 3 DVD Set, recorded from original TV recordings then transferred from VHS, the quality compared to a retail DVD is Audio 6, Video 6 (Good!)
