Johnny Jarvis is
the story of a young boy growing up in the early years of Thatcher's Britain,
told from the perspective of his "best" friend Alan Lipton. It follows their
relationship from its beginnings, when Alan makes it his mission to befriend
Johnny, through school, exams and into early adulthood with Jake, Alan's
mysterious father, and Stella the purple-haired love interest. Their
relationships are set against classic British eighties themes such as
unemployment, racism, gang violence, and not least Alan's growing lack of
compassion for those around him.
Starring Mark Farmer (Johnny), Ian Sears (Alan Lipton), Diana Davies (Mrs
Lipton), Jamie Foreman (Manning), Catherine Harding (Mrs Jarvis) and Alrick
Riley (Paul Turner).
