No wars, no wives, no babies, no
responsibilities, good jobs - good times! BURN IT rips into the lives of
3 men who thought they were still boys. Fast, funny, and most
importantly real, every 20-40 year old male will recognise themselves
somewhere amongst the characters, who behave badly without being stupid.
The young English male...a much
derided demographic of modern day Britain, but they're not complaining.
Their only responsibility is to have a good time with their mates. Their
only ball-ache is to get up for work. But what happens when 'playing
out' isn't enough? When a man actually realises he wants what he has
dismissed for the past ten years?
BURN IT follows the story of 3
such males, CARL (Chris Coghill, 24 Hour Party People), JON (William
Ash, Clocking Off,) and ANDY (Kieran O'Brien, Cracker, Jason and the
Argonauts bulldozing through life and love and breaking all their
predecessors rules each way they turn. A rites of passage story of three
normal lads who grew up in the eighties, blew away the nineties, and now
find themselves at 30 without women, love and responsibility - and
seemingly like it that way.
Then ANDY announces he's getting
married and everyone's alarm clock rings for the first time - loud. It
causes friction and confusion amongst the best pals, straining the bonds
that they thought could never be broken. Life becomes increasingly
difficult when CARL - the most hedonistic, leader of the gang, realises
he's fallen in love with ANDY's girlfriend EMMA (Lisa Faulkner, Holby
City, Spooks).
One by one, the lads start
straying to what was once the dark side. Opening their lives to
feelings, emotions and other people. They look at their lives, find they
want something more and find that relationships, love and responsibility
(previously swear words) can make them happy. But the aftershock of
their life-changing decisions affects their friendship forever.
Staring:
CARL (Chris Coghill, 24 Hour
Party People), JON (William Ash, Clocking Off) and ANDY (Kieran O'Brien,
Cracker, Jason and the Argonauts), EMMA (Lisa Faulkner, Holby City,
Spooks), Melanie Brown (Spice Girls) and Marsha Thomason (Love in the
21st Century, Playing the Field).
